Happy Easter!

Hello everyone!!

Happy Resurrection Sunday! We had a wonderful low-key day here at the Rosmarino house. We started the day off with a wonderful sunrise Easter service. It was a cool, crisp morning as we sat on the basketball court watching the sunrise, singing worship songs about our living hope and everlasting love. A light rain brought us inside, but did not dampen our spirits. Tatay spoke about Christ’s resurrection using the flannel board. All the kids loved it and were fully engaged. Afterward, we had a short turnaround to prepare for church. I had the wonderful opportunity to teach Sunday school this week. I have first grade and under outside kids (neighborhood kids). A normal class consists of shouting the lesson to be heard over the kids talking, telling everyone to hepus (be quiet); its kind like crowd control. Its always a fun time though and surprisingly they actually pay attention through it all. But as I was talking about Jesus and what he did for us, explaining the reasons behind it, they were all quiet. They were all alert and wide eyed. You could see that few of them were just transfixed by what a man over 2000 years ago did specifically for them. My favorite moment was when Manang AiAi, in Ilongo, lead them in prayer asking Jesus to be their savior. While I understand very little Ilongo, I do understand the heart and desire behind their prayers. It was such a wonderful time! I feel greatly blessed to have had that opportunity.

This last week has been a pretty relaxed week. The kids did a craft with the wordless book. They all made cross necklaces with black, red, white, blue (Christ is our living water) and gold. They are all proudly wearing them around their necks!

I don’t remember if I have told you all, but I started a quilt. It’s a very nontraditional quilt. I was able to work on it a lot this week and am about halfway done. I have never made a quilt in my life, so it has been fun trying something new and crafty! Another new thing this week was learning how to make turon. It is a native dessert here. You take a combo banana roll it in cinnamon and sugar, wrap it in a lumpia wrapper, then fry it. It is absolute deliciousness!

Today I had a wonderful skype date with my family at my aunt’s house. I thank God all the time for the person who created the technology to do that. I mean, think about it, my family and I are separated by 7000+ miles of ocean, yet we can see each other every week!

Well I think that is it for this week.

I love you and God bless!
