Ducks...crepes...and bears....oh my

Hello everyone!

How are you all doing? The weather here doesn’t know how to make up its mind. Some days we start off rainy and end in hot and sunny or start sunny and warm, then end with pouring rain. It makes it fun and unpredictable.

A highlight of the week, was the growth of our waddle gang (ducks). We had about 6 I think and now we have almost 70. Since ducks are lower maintenance than chickens and have bigger eggs, Nanay and Tatay figured the more ducks the better. Manang Laura and a few of the boys were out there fixing up the chicken coop for them. Putting in a little “pond”, making a place for them to sleep at night, ect.

Like most bible studies, the manangs take turns getting a snack for our Bible study. I finally had my turn to make a snack J So much fun! I was pretty excited to make crepes for the ladies. I love them and have great memories of my mom and dad making them when I was younger. I’m certainly not the best crepe maker in the world, but I think they turned out pretty dang good. While making them, I found out they used to have stands all over downtown, where just like in the states, they would make it then stuff it would your choice of goodies. I also made beignets, which everyone here loves. It was a fun night of mixing together the different toppings I had gotten and watching everyone spill the powdered sugar all over themselves. We made a mess of it all, but it was a delicious mess J

I have a question for you all. In 7th grade science, they are learning all about logic. Myself and manang Laura were completely stumped by this question. I would love to know your answers for the question. In next weeks blog, I will give the answer.
“A bear came out of his den and walked south a few feet. Then he walked back to his den. A few minutes later he walked a few feet in the opposite direction, but he was still traveling south. What is the colour of the bear’s fur and why?” Looking forward to hearing all your answers.

“Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; My heart within me is distressed……Cause me to hear your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You I do trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you…….Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness…..For I am your servant.” Psalms 143: 4, 8, 10, 12b
“I will praise you with my whole heart; before the gods I will sing praises to You.” Psalms 138:1
Please pray that I seek and keep my heart and mind on Christ and my purpose here. That my anxiety does not keep me from doing what God has for me in the rest of my time here.

Much love and God bless,

  1. hmmm. Well, if both times he's heading South the bear must be North. So that would mean his den is in the North pole. I think his fur is white, because Polar bears live in the North pole.
